Jan 31: Brownfields Community Workshop + Dinner!
Have you ever wondered what happens to abandoned industrial lots and other contaminated land in our neighborhoods—known as Brownfields?
Brownfields can be transformed into positive community assets when we have access to the needed knowledge, support, and resources. Verde, a non-profit organization based in the Cully neighborhood, successfully transformed a 25-acre Brownfield into a neighborhood park, Cully Park. PAALF is working with Verde and the City of Portland’s Bureau of Environmental Services Brownfields program to get the word out about resources for site assessment and clean-up of Brownfields in East Portland.
Join us for a presentation, dinner and discussion about Brownfields redevelopment. The workshop will focus on assessment and clean up resources. We will also share examples of successful projects in your neighborhood. The workshop will take place on January 31, 2019.
