Metro’s Community Placemaking Grants | Application deadline: February 4, 2019

These grants support creative projects that empower people to make changes they want to see in their neighborhoods. The agency has set aside up to $160,000 to award in grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. No matching funds are required. Looking at past projects here is encouraged as you start to think about your project. Some examples of past projects include:

·         A festival that honored the culture and contributions of people from the Pacific Island Kingdom of Tonga.

·         Bilingual storm drain murals in Tigard and Hillsboro that highlight how different cultures value water.

·         A community oven that doubles as a leadership program for young people.   

·         Artist residencies focused on healing.

Who is eligible: Community-based organizations with property-owner permission, public agencies with community partner involvement
