Passionate about transit justice? Apply to OPAL's new fellowship with Bus Riders Unite! - Portland's Transit Riders Union

Bus Riders Unite Fellowship

OPAL has trained a number of organizers for the past eight years who have gone on to do amazing work in the Social Justice movement. We are proud of the work we have accomplished through programs designed to build organizing skills, political education, and leadership in the regional Environmental Justice movement.

Are you or someone you know interested in learning how to run grassroots campaigns? Do you come from a community facing environmental racism, economic exploitation, militarism, or climate change? Are you ready to embark on an adventure that will win real victories in Portland and across Oregon?

The Bus Riders Unite Fellowship (TUF) is a program designed to help folks expand their skillsets to advance and run effective campaigns around Transit Justice. This 6-month program will require a 20-hour commitment each month. We will provide training, stipends ($20/hour), and the opportunity to develop and run effective campaigns to improve the lives of community members.
